Quality Equals Dignity: CiTTA’s Day of Volunteer Service

The CiTTA Team volunteers at Cradles to Crayons’ “Giving Factory” warehouse

The slogan on the wall at Cradles to Crayons’ Giving Factory says it all. When a child in need receives the essential items she needs to thrive, a new life becomes possible and everyone benefits.  Cradles to Crayons (C2C) serves over 30,000 children in need and wants to double that in the coming year.

That’s why CiTTA Partnership is proud to announce we partnered with C2C for our Day of Service this year!

For over two weeks now, the CiTTA Partnership Team has been collecting new and gently used clothes and toys for homeless and low-income children living in Chicago. Today we were so excited to deliver the items to the C2C warehouse – and then roll up our sleeves and get down to work!

The first stop was, quite appropriately, crayons! The team settled in and got busy drawing and writing encouraging cards to go into packs full of new school supplies: You’re a Star! You’ve Got This!

Then the team helped sort and assess hundreds of book donations. While all books are valuable, Cradles to Crayons stands by its slogan about quality. No child wants to feel second best with tattered hand-me-downs. It’s important the books be like-new, with clean pages and binding intact. The CiTTA Team compiled several “packs” of new books for children in ages ranging from infant to 12.

Volunteering with your colleagues is always a valuable exercise in relationship building and teamwork. But even more than that, the CiTTA Team is grateful for the opportunity to live our true values today.

We’re on a mission with our clients to make the world a better place for all, and the C2C Giving Factory experience was a great way to get centered on that mission. Thanks so much to everyone who donated to our Collection Drive and to the volunteer coordinators at C2C!
